Barefoot Waterfall Elopement

In late summer, I trekked deep into the Springbrook National Park with a team of eco-ethical wedding professionals for an elopement photo shoot at the base of a waterfall.

This shoot was epic! When we arrived at the national park car park the weather was looking ominous, but we decided to push on anyhow. About 15 minutes into our 2 hour trek we were hit with heavy rain, but determined we pushed on. We trekked through the rainforest saddled with wedding garments, makeup and camera gear to emerge soggy but excited at the base of the waterfall to find the perfect shoot conditions.

The inspiration for this shoot came from each vendors dedication to our shared eco-ethical stance – 'less stuff, more meaning'. We wanted to showcase the notion that a wedding needn't be full of opulent details and extravagant purchases – you can choose to celebrate the start of your marriage with a simple, beautiful and meaningful elopement ceremony, in a setting that resonates with your true selves.

We decided to focus on an elopement scenario for a few different logistical reasons, but mostly because it reaffirmed our belief that honouring and celebrating the connection between the couple is the most honest and important part of any wedding.

Here is a collection of my favourite images from the shoot.
