Tara Molell
I first met Tara many years ago in Sydney. We had our first photo session together after she gave birth to her gorgeous bub Rocky. Several years later and I've travelled to Sydney to photograph Tara again. Little Rocky has grown into such a sweet little thing and Tara has also welcomed little Amaya into the world.
But Tara's family is not the only thing that has grown. Over the last few months Tara has launched her business Tara Molell Confidence Coach, which helps women live the life of their dreams. I recently caught up with Tara in Sydney to create some images for her business and her family and to learn all about the daily life of this super mum!
Tell us a little bit about your work?
I work with female business owners and mumpreneurs who are tired of working in the daily grind of their business rather than on the expansion and of their business. I help them to identify the gaps in their marketing and sales process to create consistency and build stronger relationships, so they can stand out as industry experts without the burnout.
basically I want to help She-EO’s get back to the reason they started their business - passion, purpose, and fun!
Tell us a little bit about a day in your life?
Well… where do I start. There is nothing usual or overly consistent in my daily routine. As soon as someone is sick or didn’t sleep well over night or decides they don’t want to go down for their midday nap my whole planned day gets throw in the bin.
When the kids are home I really don’t get much done in my business, and I don’t really want to. I started this biz to be able to spend more quality time with my children, so they are my sole focus and I aim to be 100% present with them while they are around. When they are at daycare I can then look over my weekly tasks and decide what my priority is for that day.
I am in awe of the amazing mumpreneurs out there who are running a business AND home schooling their kids or have their kids at home with them all the time. Hats off to you Mamas!
….oh yeah and occasionally I shower.
What motivated you to become a business coach?
This is the third business that I have started, so in total I have been in business for myself for almost 10 years.
I remember the passion I had when I started my first business at 22. I was full of motivation, energy, and drive, however I had NO IDEA how to run a business so it was a HUGE learning curve.
At first when I was testing and trialing different strategies, finding out what worked and what could work better I was so full of energy. It lead to massive growth and expansion. I was not prepared for this and very quickly found myself WAY out of my depth. I ended up completely BURNT OUT and lost my passion. That was probably the hardest part, loosing my passion, it was the first time in my life I felt completely LOST with no clue as to what I could do or wanted to do next.
Now years on and with another start up business under my belt I have learnt so much and seen the huge benefit of asking for help. I have been getting coaching on my sh$t ever since. As entrepreneurs what we DO and WHO we are, are so closely linked so it makes sense that if you want to up level one then you have to up level the other. I don’t want anyone to lose their passion like I did, and so I work on creating the deepest levels of change in the individual first and then we can seamlessly improve the workings of the business.
How do you juggle the demands of being a mum and building a business?
Some days I DON’T! It’s a constant juggling act. I have to remind myself what is important in this moment and take it from there – one moment at a time. It forces me to get creative with my time management and how I structure my business. It’s a choice that I make. I could choose to hide behind my excuses OR I could choose to be the one in the driver’s seat and take responsibility and control of the direction of my life. A mentor once told me “make your children your reason, not your excuse” and so I did
What do you love most about what you do?
Working with inspiring, passionate, and driven entrepreneurs. I love watching them grow and come to incredible realizations within themselves and build their resilience. It’s incredible how we self-sabotage and we don’t even know we’re doing it! Imagine getting rid of your lifelong money blocks in a single session and the next day selling your highest priced item or package. It can happen that quickly! My aim is to help business owners help themselves. I work to put myself out of the job so they can overcome any challenge with complete confidence.
