I started out as a filmmaker — fresh out of film school, I worked on an independent travel documentary, followed by a stint in international aid with the Fred Hollows Foundation, which gave me a glimpse into life in remote parts of Africa. Those experiences cemented my fascination with people and the stories they live.

I started My Kindred in 2016, documenting weddings, portraits, and families around Byron Bay and beyond. These days I’m based in Brisbane with my partner and two step sons, and I’ve widened my photography to include brands and small businesses, capturing the people behind them and the passion they put into their work. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me doing yoga or attempting a new craft project (sometimes successfully), wandering local festivals and markets, or looking after my veggie garden, chickens, and dog Crumpet. Always curious, quietly observational, and never without a sketchbook or journal at hand.

Photography for me is about heart, attention, and real connection — moments that don’t need to be staged or polished. And yes, occasionally a perfectly imperfect linen napkin sneaks in.
